Our 2017 Pink Flag continues our process of partial flor-aging: 50% of the wine ages under flor, similar to Vin Jaune or Sherry, contributing the sea salt, almond, saline character we’re seeking from this process. We had better flor formation in 2017, and find that this vintage possesses both more aromatic precision and more complete, broader texture. The other half is topped-up, and is more reminiscent of classic Bandol Rose. The marriage of these two styles makes for a very complete, savory Rose, one that expresses a new side of Camp 4 Vineyard through the Counoise grape.
